Chagai Shrem and Evyatar Kerner are shlichim (Israeli educational emissaries) working with the Jewish community in Montreal. In this interview, they share their personal backgrounds, their impressions of Jewish life in Montreal, and the message they hope to convey to the Jews of Montreal.

Once again, we are stuck in an uncertain hope-fear paradox, in which the future has immense potential for peace but could easily descend into chaos.

Israel is facing a defining moment in its dispute over drafting ultra-Orthodox (Haredi) men into the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). 

This was not a moment for action, but for painful acceptance.

Israel needs to make up its mind about Qatar. Either they are a security risk or they are not. Any more Katy Perry-esque ambivalence on that front will only compromise Israel’s security further.
